Abstract

Numerous studies pointed out that hypertension, the most frequent manifestation of cardiovascular disease, is associated with obesity and metabolic syndrome. The actual objective of medicine is to make a better life for the patients, which means to know and understand what the factors are, who could modify the evolution of hypertension like: metabolic disorders, age, sex, family history and pathogenesis mechanism (including genetic predisposition, resistance to insulin, the relation with sleeping apnea, renninangiotensine system activation and endothelial dysfunction and chronic inflammation) or clinical particularities.
