Abstract

The article is a eulogistic portrait of one of the most prominent Romanian medical and cultural personalities, Iuliu Hatieganu, professor of internal medicine, founder of the medical higher education in Cluj. Professor Hatieganu was not only a dedicated medical doctor and academic teacher, but also a great cultural and national tradition promoter and militant, claiming for the crucial role of education in forming and preserving of a nation’s identity.
