Abstract

In general anaesthesia, ketamine have a special place due to their pharmacology’s properties and their action mode. Ketamine differs from other intravenous anaesthetic agents that simultaneously depress all CNS areas. In contrast, ketamine depresses some regions of the neocortex and subcortical structures, while activating other parts of the limbic system. This study try’s to demonstrate the action of ketamine on CNS by analyzing with computerized electrencephalographic techniques with BIS and power spectra (PS).
