Abstract

Euthanasia represents an acute problem in this day and age in which “death” often represents the lesser of two evils. It isn’t a matter of recent fashion, but a idea that’s been prevalent, and opposed in every age. Often the road towards the end is so long and painful that death may seem like a relief. Can humans consider the causes of death and the way we die naturally, and then overrule them with inventiveness? Will this continuous play with fate not turn against the human being? In this context, euthanasia poses a controversial problem for our society. If regarding other problems one can say that survival due to keeping in mind or getting lost in time, in the matter concerning euthanasia, not even the most stubborn opponent cannot sustain this. It is unarguable that, as brighter get the success in medicine, as much they succeed to prolong life, by disappearing old time incurable diseases, as more options appear about death and pain. Therefore, it would be dishonest to consider euthanasia a modern theme, presupposing as tomorrow it won’t be of present interest, because this the revolutionary problem is shall quieted and our age will end. Euthanasia will be a current subject that incites as much time as shall prevail those which factors brought it into the actuality, incite how much the life shall give fight with it a death and have a pain in the. But, till it stops to be an actuality, it will shake religious systems, medical practices, and philosophic mind, shortly, the moral and human conscience. Only 13% indicate that euthanasia unacceptable under any conditions. Most respondents (55%) indicate they do not know how euthanasia is practiced, and 85% believe they would never participate in the act of euthanasia themselves. Of the objections against euthanasia, ethics scored the highest (57%), followed by legal issues (29%); only 2% of the respondents believed that age should be a consideration.
