Abstract

The aim of this paper is to offer a holistic approach concerning health and illness status considering two points of view: a professional one based on empiricism and a popular (profane) one based on tradition and subjectivism. This critical approach started with the new initiative of the Health Ministry, which is trying to depict the pathology of Romania at this time. The view is cross-sectional between medicine, sociology, and psychology, and it uses the bio-psycho-social model of medicine.
