Considerații privind reforma sistemului de sănătate din Romania | [Consideration about Health system reform in Romania]
Keywords:
health system, health services, changesAbstract
The end of 1989 found Romania in a profound economic, social, and sanitary crisis. The health system was exclusively a state-based one and had the role of providing health services for the entire population. The poor health conditions and the insufficient financing of health services have imposed changes within the sanitary system. The reform of the health system has laid the foundations of a mixed system, both private and public, but the evolution of the reform is slow, difficult, and far from being finalized. The reform within of subsystem of health care has stopped “at the hospital gate”. The changes performed within hospital care have been more “cosmetic”. The Romanian health system continues to be based on hospital care, which consumes the greatest amount of funds allotted to health.Published
