Abstract

This is a review of the main causes and classification of thrombocytopenia of the newborn. The majority of premature patients with thrombocytopenia are discovered by usually lab exam. The course is predictable, benign. At the term newborns the cause is usually haemorrhage. This paper presents also the treatment possibilities.
