Abstract

Explosion of research in the field of chemical and, especially biochemical sensors in the last two decades is impressive. Sensors play an important role in many investigations in physical, chemical, and biological environments. Nanotechnologies offer a reliable alternative for medical and environmental detections improving the performance of biosensors. Enzyme-based biosensors and immunosensors are gaining in importance, the analytical data being online monitored, easy handling, and compatible with automatized measured systems.
