Aurel Andrian MD was a well-known personality of the medical life of Braşov in the 1941-1982 periods. Born in Fălciu, near Huşi, in a wealthy family (his father was a lawyer), he graduated from the Bucharest Faculty of Medicine in 1936. He dedicated his life to fighting tuberculosis and lung disease. He was the director of Mârzescu Hospital (1947-1958) and, later on, a Senior Medical Doctor of the Braşov Tuberculosis Hospital, the chairman of the Braşov Branch of the Bucharest Union of Medical Science Societies, and member of the Phthisiology Quarterly editing board and of the International Union against the Tuberculosis and Respiratory Disease. He authored over 160 specialized articles and was a skillful leader in the fight against tuberculosis in the Braşov region. He died on 5 May 1999 and was buried in the St. Nicholas Cemetery in Şcheii Braşovului.Published
