Ictus labirintic, hepatita C și interferon – coincidența sau cauzalitate?

Abstract

The clinical case of a patient with C virus hepatitis who suffered, one month after ending a cure with Interferon alpha and ribavirine, a right labyrinthine ictus, is presented. The symptoms were total right ear deafness and an important balance disorder, vertigo and vagal symptoms. Through treatment and vestibular reeducation, due to efficient central compensation, the balance disorders improved significantly but the profound deafness persisted. The discussion focuses on the possible connection between the two pathologies and the solutions to prevent such accidents in the future.
