Abstract

Nowadays, osteoporosis is considered a public health issue with major therapeutic approach improvement. A precise diagnosis goes to the right therapeutic resources management. In this context, the measurement of bone mass density is a critical step in the course of osteoporotic patient investigations. Dual X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) is the gold standard in bone mass assessment. In this paper, we describe the method, the indications field, the technical details, and its limits.
