Abstract

This article starts with the fact that patients with hyperthyroidism, treated or untreated, have a high risk of mortality. Some signs and symptoms of hyperthyroidism suggest abnormalities of cardiac function that might count in mortality causes. Sinusal rhythm variability depends on the vagal tonus and has predictive value in cardiac death. Analyzing the variability of cardiac rhythm over time, results in hyperthyroidism exist relative sympathetic hypertonia caused by parasympathetic hypotonia. The long evolution of the disease and cardiotireoza increase the risk.
