B Hepatitis Virus (BHV) infection represents a present public health problem all over the world as a major cause of morbidity and mortality in humans. The prevention of BHV in the population could be efficiently realised through non-specific prophylaxis (education of high risk groups and medical staff, exercise universal precautions, blood and blood products screening tests) and especially specific prophylaxis (immunisation). The program of evaluation the active role of health services in the aim of BHV infection prevention has the following of objectives and activities: rising the level of knowledge about consequences of VHB infection and the level of awareness about necessity of vaccination against VHB infection in the target group (nursing students in first year of study in Faculty of Medicine Brasov, Romania). Stipulated results were: rising the level of knowledge concerning BHV infection as a public health issue inside the target group; consolidate the awareness and necessity of vaccination against BHV; vaccination of 50% of the target group members. Hitches: lack of receptivity in the target group. Conclusions: vaccination is in the present one of the basic prophylactic actions in the purpose of VHB infection prevention; continuing health education actions is compulsory among large population concerning the necessity and benefit of VHB vaccination for general health.
