Aspecte ale tratamentului otitelor externe în ambulatoriul ORL

The aim of this study is to evaluate the epidemiology, etiology, and clinic efficacy of topical antibiotics/antiseptics as a treatment of 76 cases of inflammatory condition of the external ear. The evolution of symptoms and signs was recorded in order to evaluate the therapeutic benefit. The results were classified as excellent, good, fair, or null. According to these studies the bacteria and fungi implicated in inflammatory conditions of the external ear were: Stafilococul aureus 50%, Streptococcus pyogenes 17,1%, Candida albicans 9,2%, Aspergillus niger 2,6%, Others 10,5%. The response to local treatment was excellent (90,7%) and good (9,2%). Clinical efficacy, good tolerance, and compliance recommend topical antibiotics/antiseptics as a first step for the treatment of inflammatory conditions of the external ear.Published
