Abstract

Dilatative cardiomiopathy (DCM) is a medical condition which is characterized by myocardial disfunction with low cardiac output and low myocardial contractions, cardiomegaly, congestive heart failure, arithmias and death. The literature describe an idiopathic form of DCM and secondary form due to viral miocarditis, HIV infection, thalasemia, thiamin deficiency etc.
