Abstract

Epiphisis gets its shape as an diecefalic primordium, but its development is slow. After birth it has a histological aspect where the photoreceptor cells are allmost typical. In the first years, the number of the cells are increasing and the epiphisis is made of 2 different cells type. The aging of the epiphisis is progressive and will be over at the end of puberty.
