Emigrația medicilor din Spitalul Județean Brașov în perioada 1977- 2007

Abstract

The authors approach the theme of migration of medical doctors. The emigration of the County Hospital Braşov from 1977 until today is discussed. The causes are reviewed as well as the peculiarities of the different time periods (1977 – 1990; 1990 - 2007) and the frequency of the phenomenon in various medical specialties. The common causes for the two time periods were identified, to which are added the political and social motivations during the communist era. There is a slight decrease of emigration after 1990, with minor changes regarding the country of emigration and the medical specialty.
