Abstract

The clinical and radiological investigation of 80 patients T.S.R.F. (treatment for supliance of renal function), has shown higher occurrence of periodontal disease compared to healthy men. Periodontal lesions were far more severe in patients with T.S.R.F. and response to treatment significant lower. An essential factor was the reduced immune response in patients with chronic renal failure and those with kidney transplantation undergoing treatment with immunosuppressive drugs (Ciclosporine).
