Prevalența factorilor de risc în subtipurile de AVC ischemic
Keywords:
risk factors, strokeAbstract
We aimed to know how risk factors differ between different etiological ischemic stroke subtypes. We found, using the TOAST criteria: 41.8% small artery strokes, 37.8% large artery and 20.4% cardio-embolic strokes. Lacunar infarcts presented more frequent, as associated risk factors, hypertension and diabetes mellitus, while territorial infarcts were associated with hypercolesterolemia. In females lacunar infarcts were correlated more frequent with hypertension, diabetes and peripheral arteriopathy, while in males these were correlated with diabetes mellitus.Published
