Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the value of the anaesthetics diagnostic blocks in the radiofrequency procedures for low back pain. Among 120 consecutive patients with LBP, 51.6% were submitted to a classical diagnostic block and the others to selective zygoapophysial blocks. In 47.5% of cases we injected Lidocain 1% and in the others Lidocain 1% + Diprophos. The results of the study revelled that the classical complete blocks with anestetio-steroid substances determined the best positive response. Analyzing the results of the RF procedures, we concluded that the predictive value of the 30 minutes block control was significantly superior to the result of the 7 days block control.
