Diagnosticul diferențial între tromboflebita profundă și chistul Baker fuzat gambier. Evaluare ecografică

Abstract

The authors present the case of a 56 year-old patient, hospitalized in Emergency County Hospital Braşov in order to be treated for a tumor-like in the popliteal fosa acompaniated with an important swelling. The tumor-like appearance has been previously diagnosed as a profound trombophlebitis in another medical unit. Further investigations have invalidated the first diagnose and confirmed that of a Baker’s cyst with a shank extension. In this presentation we want to reveal the importance of imagistic investigation for the differential diagnosis between VPT and a Baker’s cyst with a shank extension, for choosing the right treatment.
