Abstract

Rosacea is a common condition characterized by symptoms of facial flushing and a spectrum of clinical signs, including erythema, telangiectasia, coarseness of skin, and an inflammatory papulo-pustular eruption resembling acne. The aetiology of rosacea is unknown. Several factor such vasculature, climatic exposures, matrix degeneration, chemicals and ingested agents, pilo-sebaceous unit abnormalities, and microbial organisms likely play a role in its development. Although the methods of treatment are varied and more others continue to develop there is no permanent cure for rosacea.
