Evaluarea unor factori de prognostic in sarcoamele de tesuturi moi cu metastaze pulmonare
Keywords:
sarcoma, pleuro-pulmonary metastasis, prognostic factorsAbstract
Soft tissue sarcoma is referred to tumours of the surrounding bone tissue that includes tumours of the muscle, tendons, fibrous tissue, fatty tissue or sinovial tissue. We have analyzed some prognostic factors like clinical and lab factors by studying 23 patients with soft tissue sarcoma which also presented with pleuro-pulmonary metastasis. As host-related prognostic factors our results are: sex is not a prognostic factor (p = 0.121) although women seem to be more affected (52%), also age and provenience (p = 0.366) are not prognostic factors which are concordant with the literature. As tumour related prognostic factors size of tumour influence metastasis-related survival (p = 0.267 > 0.05), but not tumour-related survival (p = 0.040 < 0.05), site of the tumour does not influence significant survival rate (p = 0.482), although survival rate of the tumours of the body was smaller then of the extremities and histology of the tumour also does not influence survival rate but differentiation does make the difference. Newer and in development prognostic factors quoted in another studies and literature are: serum LDH (p = 0.236) which is correlated with tumour volume, although non-specific tumour marker and alkaline phosphatase (p = 0.104). Metastases-related survival rate was of 95% at 10 months, 40% at 16 months, 18% at 30 months and 0.9% at 70 months. Tumour-related survival rate was of 95% at 2 months, 9% at 12 months, 3% at 19 months and of 1.4% at 24 months.
