Tratamentul antioxidant în accidentul vascular cerebral ischemic

Abstract

A lot of recent studies show the role of oxidative stress in many neurodegenerative diseases and also in ischemic stroke. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are implicated in producing cerebral lesions due to cerebral ischemia. This creates new horizons in treating patients with acute stroke by a reduction in the synthesis of ROS, by epuration or degradation of ROS, or by the protection of the ischemic tissues from the action of ROS. We present in this paper the main natural and synthetic antioxidants which proved their efficacy in ischemic stroke.
