Abstract

Microorganisms presents in the oral cavity have an important role in the ethiology and pathogenesis of different forms of periodontal disease. The composition of subgingival microflora is complex. The aim of this study is to determine the microflora from periodontal healthy patients and those with gingivitis. In this study were examined 41 patients, 21 with gingivitis and 20 periodontal healthy. Subgingival plaque samples in these patients were examinated. The result was that in periodontal healthy patients overbear periodontal aerobic/optional anaerobic species, and in patients with gingivitis predominate anaerobic germs.
