Abstract

Noise exposure is a risk factor for health. The effects over the human body become an acute public health problem for European population. In cities, the pollution due to the traffic is one of the most frequent environmental problems. Another source is residential noise from public buildings and industries. This study reveals the importance of surveing the level of urban noise in 15 cities, including Brasov City, too. Some questions have established the type of noise and the risk over health-state, by calculating the level of equivalent noise: Lech. There are 78% cases of overvalues during night and daytime. The most frequent affected are the ears, the nervous system and the heart. For knowing the effects, we can measure some physiologic functions: the level of hearing, the blood pressure, the attention. Brasov County is on the first place on ear pathology: low hearing and defness. To prevent them, we can take some measures like the management of the urban space, improoving the educational system, reducing the traffic and growing the green area.
