Abstract

Etiology of colorectal cancer is still unknown, but demonstrated multifactorial origin that includes environmental factors and personal genetic. Approximately 80% of cases are sporadic and occur in people without apparent risk, the remaining 20% occurs in people with a family medical history of colorectal cancer and polyps positive. Colorectal cancer is preventable, even cured, if detected in early stages. Screening detects repeated before becoming cancerous polyps. For people over 50 the risk factors for this disease should conduct a colonoscopy every 10 years, transit Barite every 5 years and annually in stool occult bleeding test.
