Abstract

The myocardial muscle bridge represents the most common congenital anomaly of coronary arteries, consisting of the covering of the epicardial coronary artery with myocardial fibers. The myocardial muscle bridge determines systolic compression at the level of the affected coronary segment. It is worth mentioning that, although 85% of the coronary flow occurs in diastole, it was emphasized the fact that the constriction of the vascular lumen during systole is followed by dilatation during systole, but the myocardial muscle bridge determines an accentuated vascular constriction at the level of the coronary segment affected during systole, leading to the reduction of the coronary flow.
