Abstract

Sexually transmitted diseases are a public health problem, with over 448 million new infections (syphilis, gonorrhea, trichomonas, or chlamydia) being detected worldwide each year. The age most affected by sexually transmitted diseases is between 15-49 years with a greater susceptibility among teenagers, who often are not ready to begin sexual life in complete safety. The study based on a questionnaire applied to a batch of 111 students of a high school from Brasov, aims to analyze the level of knowledge about STDs and to provide a basis for conducting a sexual education program for young people in the future.
