Abstract

Fixation of long bone fractures, especially in the middle part, requires respect to some biomechanical conditions. We think that flexible fixation is a real biological fixation. It avoids further vascular destructions and does not oppose to benefit mechanical tensions. From the biological point of view, it seems to be the method of choice. So as an experimental support of our good clinical results we started on photo-elastic investigation of this mechanical condition Evaluation by photo-elastic coating is a widely used full-field technique for accurately measuring surface strain to determine the stresses in a part or structure during static or dynamic testing.
