Abstract

Traumatic lesions of the thoracolumbar spine are an important cause of morbidity and mortality. Early identification of lesions in this location reduces the long-term negative effects of these traumas. There have been several studies to establish clear criteria for evaluating the indication of thoracolumbar imaging in trauma. The indication for radiographic evaluation of the spinal segment remains controversial.
