Abstract

Appropriate management of acute pain should be a priority in the immediate preoperative stage, bringing obvious benefits, both in terms of patients’ progress and healing and in improving their prognosis by reducing postoperative complications [1, 2, 3]. Ineffective painkiller treatment has a negative clinical impact by activating the sympathetic-adrenergic system which can lead to prolonged healing time of the wound, the occurrence of myocardial ischemia, and even myocardial infarction [1, 4]. This article refers to two groups of patients (1 and 2), females with gynecological pathology (endometriosis ovarian cyst and uterine polyfibromatosis) who underwent laparoscopic surgery. Pain assessment was performed, post-surgery, using the one-dimensional pain assessment method, namely the visual analog scale (VAS), both statically and dynamically. A properly conducted analgesic therapy will bring obvious benefits by reducing cardiovascular stress and improving respiratory function [5].
