Abstract

The combination of microscale or nanoscale materials with biomolecules presents a great interest in medicine, environment, biotechnology, and food industries. This paper presents two oxidoreductases (tyrosinase and laccase) and their applications as enzymatic biosensors for specific biomolecule detection. Electrochemical biosensors with laccase and tyrosinase, are a promising technology for in-situ monitoring of phenolic compounds, because of their advantages such as high selectivity, low production costs, high-speed response, the potential of miniaturization, and simple instrumentation.
