Abstract

Gastric lymphomas have an increasing incidence, representing up to 7% of all the gastric tumours and 10% of the lymphomas. Isaacson and Wright used this concept for the first time in 1983 in order to designate an entity with unique biological properties. Later on, these entities have been referred to as extranodal MALT lymphomas.
