Abstract

The disease Legg-Calve-Perthes, one of the main conditions of the orthopaedic child is a benign disease because it always heals, but this spontaneous healing leaves sequel that will affect the future running of the hip. Neither after a hundred years from the first description, exact aetiology of the disease is not known, being issued several theories on the basis of biological and experimental findings, but is not able, however, important progress as regards the early diagnosis or treatment of the most appropriate . Therefore disease research remains a priority in paediatric orthopaedic in an attempt to understand, to prevent or at least to limit diseases squeal.
