Abstract

This paper includes a presentation of Romania’s situation as a European Union member wishing to adopt the euro. Along with other 7 countries in the same situation, Romania is trying very hard to meet the convergence criteria set by the Maastricht Treaty. But the analysis of various economic, financial and social indicators representative for our country shows that we are not ready to adopt the euro in 2015, as it was established.
