Abstract

Qualitative data analysis (QDA) was often seen as a daunting, repetitive, and even risky task, from the efficiency point of view. Despite the fact that it is an almost mechanical exercise, the qualitative analysis requires patience, intuition, and creativity on the annalist’s part. This paper approaches a general presentation of the NVivo qualitative data analysis package, including a short history of how specialized QDA programs first appeared, NVivo’s features, and examples from a study we’ve conducted using NVivo.
