A long debate has been targeted at clarifying the relationship between culture and language. Several theories, sometimes contradictory, have been issued, all trying to establish the primordiality of culture (thought) or language. Subcultures, culturally circumscribed, manifest a linguistic specialization that concords with the idea that culture controls and regulates language. The multitude of existent subcultures illustrates the language variety and specialization.Published
