Abstract

The paper presents an analysis of the carbon sequestration estimation in a project concerning the afforestation of degraded agricultural lands in seven Romanian counties. The results of simulations with CO2Fix software for the main tree species used in the afforestation of about 6,700 ha and those resulting from field measurements are discussed and compared before a projection of the net CO2 emission reduction is provided.
