Abstract

The paper presents the results of a long-term evaluation of the comparative performance of beech and fir wood, as untreated controls or samples treated in different variants and coated, after exposure in outdoor above ground conditions, corresponding to the biological use class 3. The samples were exposed for 4 years in a modified L-joint test and were evaluated to assess both wood and coatings degradation.
