The Determination of the Surface-Emission Coefficient during Moisture Sorption in Wood

Abstract

This paper is based on a graphic-experimental method regarding the determination of the surface-emission coefficient, according to which the influence of the surface resistance upon the sorption of moisture by wood can be appreciated. This method applies an equation that relates the dimensionless potential of the moisture content to the dimensionless time for various values of the Biot number, when unsteady-state diffusion and surface-emission resistance are considered.
