Theoretical Aspects of Shadow Economy

Abstract

The paper presents several definitions of the shadow economy and tries to develop a taxonomy of it. Given the diversity of hidden activities it is difficult to make a specific definition of the underground economy. There are also presented some determinants of unofficial economy which could explain its extent and development.
