Abstract

The paper characterizes the evolution of the European management consultancy market and emphasizes the level of market development reached in the last three years by using data collected by Federation of European Management Consultancy Association. After presenting several definitions for management consultancy and a brief history of this field, particular attention is paid to management consulting in Europe, which in considered to have become an important source for innovation in the practice of management, forming a bridge between academia, firms, and leaders in other fields.
