Abstract

IT has transformed the financial services industry, making easy to access many products and services that would otherwise have been impossible to offer. At the same time, IT has improved efficiency and reduced labour costs. IT investments contribute to achieving and sustaining competitive advantage rather than exclusively improving operational effectiveness.
