Abstract

This paper has as main objective the investigation and analysis of the evolution and actual situation of some economic and social disparities between Romanian regions. Based on several multivariate analyses we make comparisons between the eight Romanian regions of development and between these ones and other regions from EU countries. The outcomes show us significant gaps in the development of Romanian regions, which need the Government involvement in order to be filled. We also analyze the national policies and strategies assumed by Romania in order to realize the convergence and cohesion with EU standards.
