Romanian Underground Economy in the Regional Context
Keywords:
underground economy, DYMIMIC method, comparative evaluation, tax reformAbstract
The paper discusses some quantitative and causal aspects of the Romanian underground economy after 1990. Few conceptual discussions are made in order to review the evaluation methods for the relative size of this part of economy. The evaluation’s relevance is estimated through international comparisons with other countries from immediate regional neighbourhood. An overview of main determinants of underground economy observed for the countries of the region suggests a set of theoretical solutions. The comparative approach is used to study the effect of these solutions.Published
