What Competencies and Skills Need the Modern Supply Chain Manager?

Abstract

The current state of logistics requires the updating of the knowledge, expertise, competencies and skills of logistics managers to keep pace with the development of new concepts, solutions and technologies. It's also becoming evident that under the pressure of globalization, reliable logistics operations and seamless processes have to be based on common standards. In this article, based on the author’s professional experience in Italy, an attempt is made to identify the critical skill set needed by logistics managers.
