Abstract

Digital technology advancements have reshaped the framework of the traditional classroom and taken the educational curriculum to a different new level. More than ever, the education systems all over the world, strongly affected by the shock of the COVID-19 crisis, need to rely on innovation and digital resources. Augmented Reality (AR) technology can enable educators and students to access specialized materials beyond time and space. This paper presents a systematic review of literature on AR in education in the last 3 years. In total 30 research papers were analyzed in this review, by using the content analysis method. Further research topics concerning the affordances of AR applications in education have been identified.
