The Faces of Femininity in Sorin Titel’s Novel

Abstract

In Sorin Titel’s novel, as in the majority of his books, there is an extremely rich feminine typology. Mater dolorosa, a reiteration of the pure image of Virgin Mary, is one of the most important. Other hypostases of femininity are mater mundi, the virgin or young girl, the actress or the circus artist. Memorable destinies are built between love and death and unforgettable feminine faces are foregrounded.
