Abstract

The analysis of the relationship between professional ethics and the voiced manifestations of Kazuo Ishiguro’s protagonist in the novel “The Remains of the Day” attempts to reveal issues of identity and self-knowledge. At the same time, the analysis focuses on the role of the narrative voice in connection with the self-assumed lack of assertiveness and agency of the protagonist narrator.
